August (continued from July below)

Also on our trip we went to the Wildlife sanctuary in Green Bay where the geese have been fed by people for so long they will come up to you and eat it right out of your hand! Grace was asleep in the car with Derrick for the feeding of the geese, but those birds were probably as tall as she is! I remember the last time we went here David was little and he was afraid of them! This time he just tried to get the food to the babies before the bigger ones would crowd around.
We also went to the NEW Zoo but my camera was low and I only got a couple of the kids feeding the giraffe. Then we were off to Mackinaw Island up in the UP. (which means the upper peninsula of Michigan) You take a ferry ride over to the island, and when you get off you step "Back in Time" (a movie filmed on the island) because there are no motorized vehicles, just bikes, and horse draw carriages. It is one of my favorite places to go for vacation. Derrick and I went there on our honeymoon! Derrick and I love this place and our kids do too!

On the boat ride over!!
Very windy....
Riding bikes around the island is always a fun thing to do. It is 8 miles around the whole thing and the bike trail is right on the shore the whole time. It is beautiful!
Playing by the shore and trying to skip rocks. Apparently Derrick skipped one 10 times but unfortunately (or maybe conveniently) no body saw it. This is where we were when Derrick got the call with an offer for the job at Schneider. Kind of memorable.
In front of the Grand Hotel.

We got home with one week before school started. This is before school on the first day.
David started half day pre-k which they have at the public schools here in Oklahoma. So he doesn't go until 12:30 in the afternoon and stays till 3. He LOVES it, but sadly, there is not a pre-k program at our new school in Wisconsin.
If you haven't figured it out by now the latest news in Whiting world is that we are moving to Wisconsin! It was really crazy because when we went on vacation we had no idea he would find a great job listed, apply and get an interview and then get an offer all in one week. It just never usually goes that quickly. Anyway, we just felt like it was meant to be and the Lord made it work for us so we took the job. Derrick started his new job up there at Schneider National in Green Bay at the end of August and now we are all moving up next week to be there for the first of October. Still waiting to sell our house here in Oklahoma, but at least we will all be together again. One month of being separated has been ENOUGH and we are not waiting for it to sell any longer.

My camera date reset before these next pictures but they were taken at some point during August or September. Gracie has found a new favorite hobby *her exercise" as she calls it is jumping on the trampoline. She could do it all day every day, except for when it gets too hot in the middle of the day. She jumps, then does somersaults or lands on her patootie. It is very cute to watch so I will post video of it at the bottom.

During the first month of second grade, Joey lost both front teeth!

And this is what happens when Daddy is gone for too long... just being silly one day.

WOW!! We didn't know you guys are moving! So will this put you closer to both of your families? We missed you in St. George but maybe next year! Scott and I already want to put our names in again. We look forward to hearing more about what is going on with your family. SO, I guess this means we can no longer share our YW pres stories! Darn!
