Christmas vacation part 2

So then we headed up to Idaho. We just love this place! The kids were so excited to go to Wayan and be with family. There were so many fun things we did that I didn't get pictures of like tye dying on Christmas eve and then everyone wearing their shirts the rest of the night, making our own stockings for Santa to fill, painting our own ornaments to hang on the tree, the annual Wayan Christmas Ping Pong tournament (won my my husband by the way with props to Kevin for a second place finish and some great games to watch), big screen movies on the wall, the Christmas eve program (I did get pictures of the nativity) and of course all the yummy Christmas candy and food ever present and always available. Here are some pictures of the sledding. The last night we were there, Derrick and I went with some of his cousins night sledding on a big old road on a hill that comes down out of the mountains. That was something I will never forget! I have never had so much fun sledding in my adult life. And trekking back up the hill time and time again was a workout like no other. So worth it for the ride down. We made a big caravan of sleds and did it all together super fast in the dark... it was great. No pictures but you can imagine...

Christmas eve, my kids were so worn out from the riggors of vacation and sledding that we announced an almost tyrannical decree.... our kids were going to take a nap!! Mostly it was Hannah who really needed it the worst, so Aunt Adell thankfully masked it by having story time in a quiet darkened room where everyone had to be laying their heads down. It doesn't get much easier to fall asleep than that, even on one of the most exciting childhood days of the year. Well, she fell asleep for a few good hours and we had a much happier Hannah on our hands the rest of the night for the festivities. Thank you Aunt Adell!!!
